Flee Fly Flown Cloud Blanket Design

While I will admit that being pregnant has caused some spaciness where my brain is concerned, that’s not what this post is about. Although it does have to do with little ones and sewing.

To catch up on a few things from this summer, I wanted to dive into a little show and tell.

Cloud Pillows by Flee Fly Flown

It seems that the baby boom is continuing among my friends and so I’ve been busy making lots of blankets both on Etsy and for friends. One I was especially excited to make was for my friend, Kiki’s, little one.

Flee Fly Flown made by Cloud Blanket

Based on a few things she had told me about what she was planning for the nursery and a few things that reminded me of her and her husband, I came up with the following design and matching cloud pillows that were made of 2 different fabrics each so they could be turned over – mixed and matched.

More show and tell soon!

Wild Blueberries made into Jam on Flee Fly Flown

It’s been a week of catch-up after my Michigan hiatus last week. A lovely time spent in my home town of Traverse City and at our cabin.

The bonus of the trip? An especially abundant wild blueberry crop this year; Our property was ripe for the picking. Between a few of us, we probably picked about 20 cups of blueberries. I brought 10 cups home: 4 went toward making Wild Blueberry Jam, 5 have been frozen for a pie a little later in the summer and the rest went into my husband’s Blueberry / Cherry Bourbon infusion. I just might turn into Violet by the time this baby is born!

But enough about my blueberry blitz. I hope you had a great week and enjoyed some of the sunshine. If it doesn’t last through the weekend in your part of the world, here are a few links to occupy some of your time:

> Did you check out my playlist last week? What’d you think?

> My friend pinned this fox embroidery kit this week. I love it and want it.

> In the mood for some new shoes.

> Can’t wait to have a waist again so I can wear this dress.

> Might give these chocolate zucchini brownies a try this weekend.

> My husband (and friend) made this table (with a few adjustments)for our dining room and it turned out awesome. He white washed it and I love it.

Now get outside and enjoy the summer!

Friends – it’s been a crazy week. My apologies for not posting much of anything this week. I’m making a few adjustments in my day job situation and it’s taking up a lot of my time and attention. All good things. More on that soon.

Eat. Sleep. Sew. Repeat. Flee Fly Flown

And in between all that, lots of blanket and stocking orders to fill! Eat. Sleep. Sew. Repeat.

In the meantime, we have a pleasant little distraction this weekend in the form of a quick weekend trip to Melbourne Beach, Florida for a friends wedding. I can’t complain about a few days on the beach!

While I’m away, I hope you enjoy a few of the links I wandered through this week.

> Loving the ladies’ voices in Mountain Man

> A little Wes Anderson appetizer.

> Get the trimming ready for the tree.

> The Generous Skeptic. Thanks as always, Seth.

> We saw this performance (not this recording) last week. Lovely.

> Down the rabbit hole necklace. Want.

> Lovely fair trade items from the Four Corners of the World. (I want the baskets!)

> It’s almost here!!!! Can you tell I’m excited?

And guess what?! Next week I’m breaking my own rule and launching my annual gift guides before Thanksgiving. Since it’s so late this year, I’m jumping on the ridiculous pre-holiday shopping band wagon. Though I’m going dark for Black Friday because, no offense to those who shop that day, I think it’s absurd.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
